The Silvis Police Department is comprised of 15 sworn officers, six Telecommunicators and a Community Service Officer. The department is one of six 911 call centers in Rock Island County. The dispatch center also provides services for Barstow Fire, Hampton Fire and Hampton Police Department.

The Silvis Police Department is committed to protecting and serving the citizens of Silvis. Silvis officers support and participate in a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement and investigative groups, Quad City Crime Stoppers, Quad City Investigators Group, Quad City Citizen's Police Academy and Chiefs of Police Association. The department is committed to maintaining a visible presence and professional deterrence to crime in collaboration with the citizens we serve. The Community Service Officer handles complaints of abandoned vehicles, unkempt properties and loose, neglected or abandoned domestic animals. Residents are reminded to have domestic animals leashed when outside the home, vaccinated and with proper animal tags. We recommend having your pet microchipped to aid us in safely returning your pet home if it becomes lost.
